Roof Cleaning

Don’t you hate those ugly black streaks on your roof?

Save money by rescuing your existing roof! Your roof likely has many years of life left in it; all it needs to be safely restored to its original beauty is soft washing.

What Causes Those Black Streaks?

The main culprit of most roof staining that causes prevalent black streaks is a bacteria called Gloeocapsa Magma. This type of algae is transferred through the air and tends to land, collect and grow on roofing structures.

Your roof isn’t just ugly, it’s infected!

In addition to being responsible for unsightly black streaks, these bacteria also consume the limestone filler in shingles. Left untreated, this can cause significant damage and deterioration to your roof.

Reasons to Soft Wash Your Roof

For years, people used pressure or power washing to clean their roof, however they weren’t solving the root of the problem.

Pressure washing eliminates just the surface layer of mold, algae and bacteria found on roofs. This discoloration might disappear for now, but without eliminating the bacteria, the discolorations can be expected to return due to regrowth within six months.

Our SoftWash System totally cleans, treats, sanitizes, disinfects and eradicates stain-causing Gloeocapsa Magma by killing 100% of these pests. Soft washing your roof lasts 4 to 6 times longer than pressure or power washing. There is no bacteria regrowth – only new growth.

Soft Washing

Soft washing is the use of water based, biodegradable chemicals that emulsify dirt and grime, get rid of bug nests and spider webs, kill mold, mildew, algae and bacteria – leaving the surface clean, sanitized and disinfected.

Soft washing consumes only one-third of the water that pressure or power washing does, lasts 4 to 6 times longer, and does not deteriorate or damage the surface like power washing frequently can. Soft washing also does so much more than pressure washing because it does more than just clean your exterior surfaces, it treats, sanitizes and disinfects all exterior surfaces.

Soft washing can be performed on various surfaces where Gloeocapsa Magma (algae, bacteria, etc.) grow.

  • Concrete
  • Brick
  • Wood
  • Tile
  • Vinyl Siding
  • Aluminum
  • And so much more….

Break the cycle of irritating pressure washing and use an option that can eliminate the problem 100%.

Environmentally Friendly, Biodegradable Chemicals in Softwash

The chemicals used in soft washing aid in the breakdown of contaminants and infestations, so they can be easily rinsed away. They do all the work without all the pressure. Our chemicals are water based, ship non-hazardous, and are biodegradable, meaning they break down into carbon and water within twenty (20) days after their introduction into the environment; leaving no contaminants behind.

Reasons to Use Soft Washing

  • Substitute for pressure washing

Power washing creates erosion and strips away materials that might have been loosened up by decomposition or aging. It may be suitable for some projects and not others.

  • It actually treats the infestation

Your property isn’t just dirty – it’s infected! Typical power washing simply removes the outer layer of this growth and doesn’t resolve the root of the issue, leaving your surface susceptible again not long after power washing is finished.

  • No damage from pressure

Pressure washing can be destructive and can damage the surface you are trying to treat. It can even void your roofing warranty if done incorrectly.

  • More eco-friendly cleaning option

Pressure washers use from 3 to 8 gallons of water per minute (gpm). In one hour of cleaning a power washer can utilize from 180 gallons upwards to 480 gallons of water. Conversely, soft washing just uses approximately 60 gallons of cleaning solution, which is comprised of about 40 gallons of water.

The cleaning solution is so powerful that it last 4 – 6 times longer than pressure washing, making it more viable for the environment and your wallet.
